Competition Format
The following competitions are open to all TPS members to enter, regardless of the class they are allocated to for class competitions.
Best Monochrome Print Trophy
The Trophy is awarded for the ‘Best Monochrome Print’ as chosen by the members attending the AGM.
This competition was instigated in 1992, in memory of Ursula Spicer. The original Ursula Spicer Trophy was made by member Bert Fane.
Best Colour Print Trophy
The Trophy is awarded for the ‘Best Colour Print’ as chosen by the members attending the AGM.
The original trophy, known as the Shirley Daniell Shield, was donated, to CCCC, by Mrs S Daniell in 1989. Originally for the member scoring the most points in the competition for commercially produced colour prints.
Rules
1 All members of the Tandridge Photographic Society are eligible to enter up to three prints of each discipline for the Trophy.
2 Entries must have been entered in a club competition in the last year.
3 Prints may be commercially produced.
4 The copyright of original elements used in a competition entry must be held by the author.
5 All members attending the AGM will be invited to join in the selection of the trophy winner, by awarding points to three prints - Three points to their first choice, Two to their second choice and One point to their final choice.
6 The print with the highest points total will be declared the winner.
7 The winner will be presented with the Trophy at the Annual Prize Giving, to hold for one year.
The Graham Phillips Trophy for Meritorious Service
The trophy is awarded to the member most deserving it, as decided by a vote of all members present at the Annual General Meeting.
The trophy was presented to Tandridge Photographic Society in 2006 by Mr Graham Phillips, son of Mr H J G Phillips who were both Founding Members of the Caterham Community Camera Club back in 1963-4.
